I was just thinking that with as much time and money as people spend to correctly set up an electrical system, is it at all better to run the ground wires from the amps directly to the negative terminal of the battery? It wouldn't be that much more work than grounding to the frame of the car...

I've got 2 12" type R's in my saab 9000 running off of an Alphasonik PMA-2500 amp (1600 watts Rms, but I turned the gain down). My car will get loud, but is more of an sq setup than spl. I would definitely reccomend the type R subs to anyone who wants something that will sound good.

Does anyone know anything about alphasonik amps, in particular the PMA2300. It's rated at 900W X 1 @ 4 ohms. Will it really push this much power? Will it sound good? Thanks.

The Type R's are in sealed boxes. Thanks for your help. I'll order the amp when I get paid.

Right now I have 2 12" type R's. I feel bad powering them with a used legacy amp, so I want to replace it. Would the JBL 1200.1 be a good choice? Is this too much power?

IMO, building a single box would be much easier if you have the space to fit 3 12" subs side by side. As far as the wiring goes, I know nothing about the Boss amps and can offer no advice. Sorry.

A bigger sealed box will give you lower bass than a smaller sealed box but you lose much of the tightness in the bass. IMO, if you want really low bass, a ported box would be best.

I've had 2 12" type R's for about a year now. They hit pretty hard and give excellent SQ. For the money, i'm very happy with them.
