If you don't need an internal amp, I vote alpine cda-7995. I picked one up last week for like 165, and it smokes most everything else. If you need an internal amp... then somebody else will likely post something! What do 9835's go for? 9833's?

Haha, yeah true that. And adding a fuse under the hood takes all of 2 minutes. So no big deal.

I'd sooner find a single 12" ported box, bridge the amp and turn the gain down... and run a single sub, until you could get a bigger amp. Underpowering stuff sucks.

True that! I just wanted to know what kind of competition is out there. I wouldn't even consider a W6... I've heard both, and the JL does everything better, according my ears. Much more versatile. I honestly think the price jump from W3 to W6 isn't worth it. I could have gone with 2 W6's or...

They want the fuse before the firewall... I think that is their complaint. Funny though... A fire starts in the back of your car... you pull over, get out, and watch your car burn. That's a bad day. Course, you get into an accident, an amp tossed on the floor of your car, not secured, could...

I used to have a 7897, loved it! Turned the internal amp off, and it was great. That got me thinking... and I made the switch to the 7998. I just put a 7995 in my girlfriends car, and it is a killer headunit too! 7995's can be had for cheap, too. They all have the tilt function you're after.

I doubt you heard them all in the same conditions then... because W6's aren't much better than W3v2's, and W7's kick both of their *****. I have no comment on the L7, but have only heard good things.

Just take a spin to a dealer, and check out the wiring harness... or ... buy another harness. They are cheap.

Haha, 16 and 17 year old girls loved the dolphins So it served it's purpose! Thanks for the kind words regarding the A4... It's been a long time coming. I've owned a lot of domestic sports cars... I am happiest with the a4 though. I'd kill for an S4... but there might be a big turbo upgrade in...
