Let me take another approach, how do you guys get video onto your VX6020? Please tell me you're not packing DVD's in the Summer heat.

I have a Jensen Nav/Entertainment unit and am very happy with it, but I'm struggling to find a video encoding for the SD Card that doesn't take up huge amounts of space. Currently I am encoding videos to an AVI container with MPEG4 Codec and MPEG 1 Audio, 30 FPS. Results look and sound beautiful...

OK Not familiar with the 397 but it's still gotta get Internet from something, hooking it up to a WiFi-only tablet is not going to help much... once you leave your driveway.

If you are stuck on TomTom I think that limits you to Sony products like the XAV-602BT, TomTom is a $250 add-on. Reviews on that HU are not that great, but there are a lot of messy Nav Head Units on the market right now.

The Jensen VX6020 will go to 32GB, not sure if the front input is what you are looking for. It has a front SDHC slot so I just put everything on a 32GB SD card. Sweet! I had a Kenwood Excelon with a rear USB but I can't recommend it, went Tango Uniform and Kenwood needed it back to fix it so...

Have you bluetooth paired a phone with mobile data turned on? That head unit has gotta get Internet through something.

Some of the cheaper brands have more channels on their graphic equalizers than the mid-range expensive models, Kenwood has only 3 bands and Pioneer 5 I think. That might be your driving factor. The more expensive bands have rely on different modes rather than an equalizer. In order to get Sat...

Kenwoods can be changed, I don't know about JVC but they come from the same company...

No worries on the stereo, it is just you going deaf! j/k Seriously is this a factory unit? If not what is it? Is it all one one or has a separate Amplifier? The first thing that comes to mind is overheating/thermal shutdown of the Amp.
