    dimming LED for security system

i dont know, its really bright, like, i put the led near where i turn on the ignition. Its blinding. I was hoping to tone it down a little. Why does it need to be so bright anyways? I mean, if it was half as bright you could still easily see it if you peaked into my car.

    dimming LED for security system

Hi, I got an aftermarket blue LED hooked up to my security system. I was wondering how I can decrease the light intensity of the LED. SHould I use a resistor, if so, which kind?

ive been going about a week now with my current settings and my sla is on +4. Everything sounds really good. Does anyone else turn up their SLA on their HU in order to get the right volume adjustment?

fine tuning through amps or through headunit???

well basically right now, i think the gain on my front speakers is set correctly cuz they are as loud as my rear's which are coming straight from my headunit. What does clipping mean? The speakers are what doesnt get loud enough, I mean, even without the amp, If I had the SLA on zero, i...

fine tuning through amps or through headunit???

well nothing is maxed out, even my subwoofer amp is at like 65% gain. My 2ch amp for my fronts is at like 25%. However, when I want it loud, it seems that my headunit is going almost to the max, should I just adjust the SLA??

deh-p4600mp: how to setup headunit to play front/rear preouts + highlevel

Hey guys, I recently got a deh-p4600mp. It has front and rear/sub preouts, So I have the rear going to my amp for my sub and the front going to the amp for my fronts. Now I have the rear speaker connected to the actual HU. But now Im trying to get the 4 in car speakers to play mid to high...

good idea to push speakers at max rms rating?

so then its probably not a good idea to have my gain set all the way up, but then the music doesnt play as loud as I want it to. So if i got a more powerful amp i wouldnt have to set it up all the way and it would play louder and cleaner and would give out the same amount of power but sounding...

good idea to push speakers at max rms rating?

so, basically if i have my gain set all the way up, then my amp would be sending out 100w rms, otherwise its only sending out a fraction of it? SO in that case, I should probably not turn the gain up all the way, and instead, turn it only to about 80%? Or maybe I should just find an amp that...

good idea to push speakers at max rms rating?

ok im a little confused now, so if i power a 100w rms speaker with a 100w rms amp, i would be sending the speaker 100w rms when the music is playing loud right? I mean the amp can peak at 300w allowing for the dynamic peaks u guys are talking about. But you guys say that I shouldnt power the...

good idea to push speakers at max rms rating?

yeah that was very well put, however im still pondering something, what is a dynamic peak? Im guessing it has something to do with the music requesting more than the rms output of the amp, but I mean doesn't an amp also have a max wattage output as well? And when would my speakers be seeing...

good idea to push speakers at max rms rating?

What do you mean if I keep the gain down, you mean the volume right, because in the end it matters at what volume the speakers are playing at right? I cant keep the gain on my amp down because then my speakers wont play loud enough.

good idea to push speakers at max rms rating?

well, the manufacturer recommends 100w rms i guess, but my question is if they would last longer if i powered them at a lower rms. My audiobahns may ****, but my wallet will care if I blow them. =(

good idea to push speakers at max rms rating?

Hey guys, I was wondering whether it was a good or bad idea to push my 6x8 audiobahn 100w rms speakers at a consistent 100w rms form the amp? I mean, I personally can't tell the difference from if I was pushing them at 60w. Im just wondering if Im shortening the life of my speakers for no...
