The newbie guide to custom kick panels

What do you want to add? Some things I'd add off the top of my head: - Spend more time with the baffles. I just threw mine together because I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing, and the kick panels looked really out of place to me as a result. They didn't blend in with the interior as well...

    I'm surprised as well.

The newbie guide to custom kick panels

The pics are still in my gallery, the link structure seems to have changed which is why they don't show up. I can't edit my posts either to update the links. *shrug* Kind of funny looking at this thread five years later (has it seriously been that long?). Lots of things I would do differently now.

The newbie guide to custom kick panels

It's called a newbie guide, dickweed. They were made by me for the first time to encourage people to try it for themselves. Die, slow.

Most likely a router and a table saw with a dado blade. Or it could have all been done with a CNC router *drools*

    1000+ Watt Amplifiers

Most of the links are dead because I made the list over a year ago....this was actually the second one I did, if someone else has the energy to redo it, go ahead, I don't have the time for it anymore.

what gauge wire do i need

4AWG is fine for both power and ground, you don't need a cap. Only get a bigger wire if you plan to upgrade, otherwise it's a waste.

    amp protect mode

The 9-0.2V is your gain, turn that down (to a higher voltage)

    breaking in

Break-in periods are unncessary, they are only mentioned in the manual to cover the companys ass on warranties. Use your equipment properly and there won't be any problems.

    newbie soundsplinter question

If they are the same amp and they're strappable, yes. If they aren't strappable, use an oscilloscope to set the gains equal on both amps.

    need good amp

Impedance of the subs? Price range for the amp?

    single sub enclosure

Browse some SoundDomain pages, you should be able to find something.

    insulation question

Who/what is saying to insulate the box? There's polyfill, but that's not necessary, you can just plop the sub in there and call it a day.

    amp protect mode

Turn the gain down and see what happens...it might also be a voltage drop.
