any luck.my buddies 08 silverado is having the same issue.we believe it's the hu.jvc hu not sure what model.we hooked the speakers to the hu and still have the whine.needless to say i think he is going back to all stock,he's quite frustrated with the whine

it doesn't rattle. i would of expected alot of rattle.i hear the back glass (or what i think is the back glass)once in a while,but for the most part i just hear and feel the stereo

the only problem i see with porting the 4-12's is getting the airspace needed and keeping the box below the window line .too stay in the stock class

i have never been a big fan of ported boxes until my latest build(been out of it for a while) i had 1st built a box for 4-10's sealed.then got a wild hair to try a ported box for the 4-10's.MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE.if you have the room do a ported box.i think youy will be pleaded

i will enter it in some comps but it's mainly a dd. another question.the re box calculator has the port located on one end of the box.will it hurt if i move the port to the center between the subs,while staying as close as possible to the port specs it shows? again thanks for your help

another question. if i build a box and the tuning is lower or higher say by 2 or 3 hz either way than what is recomended .will it hurt the sound quality of the box and subs or just the lowest frequency the box will work efficeintly too?
