    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

Okay so If I do decide to pair the Zapco ST-5x II with IDQ V4 which are rated at 750 rms. It should be relatively easy to set the gain yes? The amp can't send more than 750 and since Zapco is pretty high quality as long as I'm not a dumb *** and turn the gain to full blast I shouldn't have to...

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

Okay good to know this definitely opens up my options on amps available. Gonna do a bit more research, def gonna be looking at the Zapco. These look nice man!! Unfortunately my budget for a 5 channel or 4/1 channel is about $300-350. =[

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

Oh. Well when you put it that way it seems very trivial for my uses. What about the stuff I've read about under powering a sub? Isn't that something to worry about? I think Crutchfield had a guide I read that said 75% RMS but IDQ specs says it can accept like 50-750 rms. Kinda conflicting.. I...

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

Hey I'll be going with IDQs Dual 2 OHM speakers so I should be able to wire the prime 750 on a 1 ohm load to deliver that. Thanks for the info.

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

When I initially read your comment I got a bit confused about "Dual 4" i understand now though. I just thought I needed to run a 750 RMS sub at at least 75-150%. The Zapco puts out 350. Wouldn't I be better suited with a stronger one for a 750 RMS speaker. I am listening just tryin to get it...

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

I would be all over the Zapco except I am pretty set on getting an IDQ12v4 for my sub and it requires around 750 rms.. spent a lot of time designing a sub box I'm happy with.

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

Well ****. I spent all this time designing a subbox for the IDQ 12 v4 speakers that are rated at 750 watts and didn't really look at amps.. I want a good quality one.. Back to the drawing board!

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

Hey so I've been looking at the Zapco as well.. is this stable at 1 OHM? I didn't see it reading the specs. When it advertises 720 watts rms is it just referring to total wattage of all speakers? Sorry for the noob questions. The speaker for my sub I'm planning on getting it 750 rms.

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

Wow thanks so much for the information guys. I think I am going to go with two amps instead of one. A Class D mono then something to power the components. I've been looking at the Hifonics they seem to have pretty good reviews and decent pricing. Cannot wait to get this system going.

    Sub/Amp Matching Advice

So you guys are pretty much saying get a single channel amp just for the sub? I was thinking of getting a 5 channel for all the speaker and was looking to upgrade my component speakers to a nice set. What about a 3 channel for the sub and both forward speakers? This is my first setup and I...

Would a sub powered at 750 watts be too much bump for component speakers powers at 75 watts?
