    the solution eludes me...

Thank you, you were right one of the terminals on the sub are mis-marked from the manufacturer. The hole terminal is turned around backwards. I had it hooked up that way for a month and never even new that I only had one sub working. It is even more amazing now. Thanks, Flyer

    the solution eludes me...

I have 2 15 eclipse ti's I have the voice coils hooked up in parallel and the subs hooked up in a series to the jl 1000.1 amp at a final 4 ohm load. Just noticed today that one of the subs is not working. There isn't a break in any connection because one sub still works. I used a ohm meter...

    2ohm or 4 ohm load

If your solobaric is the dual 2 ohm voice coil then yes that is what you would do.

Eclipse HU ? (wire color for illumination)

I have the 8455 and I just spliced the illumination wire into the power wire. Now the buttons are always lit but the display is a tiny dimmer as it would be when the lights are turned on. Flyer

    2ohm or 4 ohm load

With that amp you can wire it a couple of ways to the alpine sub. First of all there isn't a single voice coil version of the type s alpine as far as I can tell. They are either dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm. That being the case (assuming there is a stereo/mono switch on the amp) either of them...

    2ohm or 4 ohm load

That sub would probably be okay, it all depends on the amp. You didn't say which profile amp (which model number). Still more info would be helpful. Flyer

    2ohm or 4 ohm load

The voice coils (either 1 or 2 probably) and how they are wired determine the ohm load on the amp. What brand and model are your amp and sub. This information would aid in giving you good information. Flyer

    One 10 or 2 10's???

I used to have just one eclipse sw9152 with 1000watts going to it. It sounded great but I had the extraroom and added another identicle sub so now I have 2 9152's and 500watts going to each of them and there was a very noticable difference in loudness. I posted a similar question a while ago...

    alpine vs kenwood

Never had an alpine, but I had the kenwood 889 and I had a problem with skipping once I upgraded my sub. Went with eclipse and everything is fine. If it were me I would try the alpine. Flyer

Subs making weird noises, need help

Just make sure the RCA's arent' routed by the power wire or anything, other than that there isn't much else you can do besides test another deck. Flyer

    Need an amp suggestion

According to the Pioneer website it says that those subs can take 350watts rms. If your wanting an amp that puts out 700watts at 4 ohms, that will be a pretty big amp for example Most amps work similar to this 700watts at 4ohms 1400watts at 2 ohms 2600watts at 1 ohm or some variation of...

    Need an amp suggestion

If it is Hifonics I would say a BXi 606 would suit them pretty decently. It will give you 300w to each sub at that impedence. Those subs are about 350rms each.

Subs making weird noises, need help

If it works fine while operating the radio, I would say that it is a problem with the deck itself. Perhaps an upgrade in wiring would be necessary as well. Flyer

Can I set up an amp in my house??

It is possible to set it up in your house but not by any of those means. You are going to need something that sends out DC (as in a car) instead of AC like in a house. I wouldn't even know where to start looking for something like that. I used to be an instore tech at best buy when I was a...
