Jakerrr, where did you end up getting your Hertz HSK-165 set from? I want to get this set but I would like to get a legitimate set. It sounds like there are a lot of fake ones out there.

I agree with misfit. There is no reason to spend $200 on a component set if you are running off of HU. Waste of money. The Sony set may sound OK but you are still much better off getting an amp.

Bummer about the PPI 356cs being discontinued. They are really a great component set. I have loved mine. Every type of music I have thrown at them sounds great. They sound better than any set I have heard but my experience is pretty limited. To my ears they sound better than similar priced sets...

Yes, great speakers and for what they cost they are a steal. The IDs are also nice though they cost $180 and several people on here that have owned both prefer the PPIs. Isn't the 200.2 50x2 watts RMS? That might be a little underpowered for the PPI and ID sets. How many watts did birth sheet...

No input on tweeters? I thought I would add how I got rid of rattles and buzzing with doors for others that are putting sound system in their Forester. My next step is to deaden the doors more with Dynamat or Raamat. There was a lot of rattles and buzzing going on before I took these steps...

Here are some shots to show issue with these tweeters and the sail panels. The dilemma that I have is that the factory tweeter mount that is in the sail panel is meant for a 1" tweeter. While the PPI tweeter is a 1" tweeter is does not come out of the frame. The tweeter with frame is in fact 1...

There are but the PPI tweeters do not fit. Kind of bummed about that. It would have looked much more clean that way. I'm considering going with the flush mount in same spot though I'm concerned about what I would do if I sold car.

Are you running at 12.5 or 14.4 V? 4 "sets" of PPI 356cs? As in 8 woofers and 8 tweeters? I imagine that was a typo... I'm trying to picture where you would put 8 of those monster crossovers...
