I love it, I occasionally miss the having the size of the Tahoe, but i couldn't handle 13.7 mpg anymore. Not to mention the q5 has enough space and drives like a sports car. Just need to get these 2 12's in there now and the windows tinted and i'll be set

I have two jl w3 10s and a alpine pdx 1.1000. The subs and amp sound great and the gain was set with a dmm but the amp shuts off when I turn the volume up. I am not turning it up to a crazy level, just what I would consider decently loud. I know that the subs and amp should be able to handle...

What about Alpine Type-r's, I've heard pretty good things abuout them. Looking for 2-12" subs in around 250-300 for both range. Looking for SQ but would like them to be decently loud

The deal at a local shop was 320 for 2 JL W3s but I have 60 dollars store credit to the store. Was thinking it might be worth it to pick them up at 260. Possibly getting the 12" 4ohm

Not sure if the enclosure is bad, but it doesn't seem to be the problem. To me, it sounds as if the subs are sometimes putting out frequencies that they shouldn't be and are really inconsistent depending on the song. Would any of this have to do with it not being hooked up to the pre outs...

Thanks for the help so far. My kickers seem to pick up a lot of high frequencies and just don't sound very clean. I am looking to clean up my overall sound and maybe just need someone to tune my system. I can get two 12" jl w3s for 260 and have even told that these would suit my amp much better...

Yeah they're pre outs. They're just called sub outs on the hu because they correspond to those controls

My amp gain is set all the way down and my kickers are pretty loud. Just don't like the quality of them. Will hooking new subs up to the sub outs instead of through the converter help the sound quality a lot? And Im looking for punchy tight bass. I like it loud but nothing overpowering
