I just tried it with the last TOOL album and it still does it. I did however notice that I could sometimes get it to happen by pressing the accelerator. Some kind of ignition interference? If so why wouldn't it happen when the radio is on????

Yes they are. I thought about that but it only does it with the engine running. I'll try a store purchased CD to rule that out all together.

Oh and it never does it with the radio on, just the cd player and mp3.

I put a new CD player in my Jeep and I'm having some problems. When using the CD player or the USB Mp3 player I get this intermittent clicking coming through the speakers, it's almost like static. Everything seems to be fine with the engine off, but when it's running the clicking/popping noise...
