    i meaent by underpowering that i wasn't let my amp put out as much as it could, i probably have it 1/3 of the way on the bass knob.

    kk so today i decided to move the bass on my headunit from -1 to +2, and it didnt seem to turn off today. could it be im underpowering my amp too much?

    well im not sure about the ground becausae i had it installed at circuit city, but yeah subs will go on and off occasionally.

    well alot of times i get into the truck and it works fine. The amp is usually red but that doesn't neccesarily mean its in protect mode, i beleive there a little spectrum of light that the amp turns when it pushes out different amounts of power. RCAs in the amp are pushed in though.

    hey guys i have a mtx TE801D amp pushing two 10 inch mtx 7500's, im running 4 gauge wiring and the subs are 4 ohms. alot of times when i get into the car my amp will turn on but wont put any power into the subs.! any ideas what might be wrong?
