Your amp probably has a low quality. Get Zed Audio. Not only it has some of the best SQ, but the engine interference has been kept in mind when designing the am and you can't get engine noise with these amps. They're not cheap, but definitely worth it.

What about the Pioneer 800BT? I may get that one. And you're right - I don't care much about EQs. Ideally, EQs should be completely bypassed. On my PC, I use ASIO to completely bypass any EQs that came with windows.
