Hi TheRealSpinner & Boomin_tahoe. Thanks for your replies. It's actually the speaker wires for which I need to know which is + and - I cant trace the wires all the way from the back of the head unit to the doors. They are mixed in with the rest of the cars harness.

Thanks again for your help guys. I managed to source 2 pairs of component speakers for my car. They are made by a company called 'InPhase' (model number SXT57.1C) and they have a crossover included. They give a very good quality sound.

Hi again. Again I'm sorry if I'm being a bit dim but is it ok if I connect both the mid-range and tweeter to one channel temporarily? For example using the front left channel and connecting both speakers to it but without the filter connected. They are both 4 ohm speakers so that would make 8...

Thanks for replying dragon.breath. I'm very grateful. So even if the speaker cable from the head unit is connected to the mid range first, then a cable from the mid to the tweeter ( which has the filter), it will still filter the signal for the mid range. Is that correct? Thanks again

Also. There is nowhere to mount the tweeters. I know this is a bit of a botch job but can I just place them on a metal surface and let the magnet stick it there or will that cause problems?
