    Best single 15" setup? ?

That atrend box isn't too bad. I picked one up last week for $20 and I'm surprised at how well it's built. I'm putting my dual 1 ohm 15" hdc3 in it hooked up to an alpine mrx-240. Your video gave me some needed motivation to get it installed.

Need recommendation - HU that can randomly play many thousands of MP3s from USB flash

Some reviews say the display can be hard to read in the daylight. I've had no troubles with it. I guess it probably depends on the vehicle. Pros: - Active capable - Dual USB ports (front & rear). Not many decks come with rear no so this is a big plus for me. - 4v preout - Best USB...

Need recommendation - HU that can randomly play many thousands of MP3s from USB flash

I have the pioneer deh-x8800bhs and I'm sure it plays random from all folders. I only have ~35GB of music on a 64GB flash drive.

    Glue for dust caps

I've used a glue called weldbond for gluing dust caps. It works great. I've tried all sorts of epoxies and none of them would hold throughout a cold canadian winter. Weldbond has been holding for 4 years now. https://www.amazon.com/Weldbond-8-50420-Universal-Adhesive-14-2/dp/B00RM70OGE

    mach 5 audio......

I do remember they changed names a while ago. Their website still works iST Ltd. Other than that I haven't heard anything about them in a long while. I think I still have an SPL 15" somewhere.

    2008 Tiburon Build - Two 12's

I had the alternator rewound at a local shop and also had 4 exide agm batteries.

    2008 Tiburon Build - Two 12's

Cool build. I had an '03 TIburon and it was one of the best vehicles for audio that I've had. Your box looks similar to what I found worked best for my 2 12" Power HX2s. It was actually quite an impressive set up with a RF t30001bd. I miss it to this day. I don't think I would run the...

    Pioneer TS-W2504spl

Anybody know anything about this sub? I can get a 10 inch version locally for cheap. I can't find much info in regards to user experience online. Not sure if it's worth picking up or not for $40. Thinking it may be a cool sub for a t-line.

    Pioneer DEH-X8700BS

I think it's an OK unit. Has FLAC support, rear USB, bluetooth but only has a 5 band EQ. If you need more than that I think the Kenwood KDC-X998 has a 13 band EQ. There is also the Pioneer DEH-80prs which has the most tunability but at a higher cost (double the price of the X8700BS here).

    deh-80prs questions

Ok good point about warranty. I've never had to use warranty in all of the years I've been buying electronics so it's not really something I think about. I'll do some digging around for new. I'm not having much luck finding anything new for under $500 including shipping. One of the many...

    deh-80prs questions

Refurbished doesn't bother me. Refurbished units are usually tested extensively. Not every new unit is tested like that so the odds of having problems are probably higher. Last time I ordered from that company the HU was refurbished by pioneer themselves. Hopefully that hasn't changed.

    deh-80prs questions

I'll worry about what to do with the tweeters later. Right now I'll focus on getting the actual deck first. I do have a 4 channel kicking around here somewhere. The RCA input has broken loose. I'll try and fix it and use that. Has anyone dealt with hifiaudioonline on ebay before? This...

    deh-80prs questions

Correct. Tweeters have a higher sensitivity so I figured HU power would be adequate. It's worth a try before having to get a new amp.

    deh-80prs questions

I'm looking to replace my eclipse cd5030 that I just sold with a deh-80prs. I have a couple of questions. I live in Canada and am wondering the best place to buy either new or refurbished? Not seeing much on ebay. The ones on ebay are close to $500. Sonic Electronics has them pretty cheap...

    tline and tuning

Alright, thanks. That's exactly what I needed to hear. I'm going to re-do it all. I'll go from 3/4" mdf to 1/2" baltic birch. Instead of using one of my hx2s I'll use my mach 5 spl 15. The spl 15 has an fs of 40hz so it'll be easier for me to fit. Thanks again.
