i need to get 2 12's and an amp for around 550. im ordering from woofersetc really think the vmax would beat harder than the alpines? im buying the amp to match with like 200rms extra. i was going to run the alpines 1200 rms on an amp that should do a little more. what about a single 15? L7?

Alpine says to use up to 1.25 or 1.75 cubes ported.. and the box is already huge. i dont want them to over extend, i think with 4 cubes they will move too freely anyways. what would you suggest over the type R's for under 200 than

if i put the speakers in the top of the box, faced the port towards the front of the car.. bad idea? port should go on the same side as the speakers?
