Kicker 3.5 not working off head unit but work off home stereo? Bad wiring?

Thanks. I'll try tomorrow. The manual says 15-50 watts, 100 peak. It recommends 16 ga or larger wire, but the crossover wires are tiny, as are the ones from the HU wire harness.

    MB Quart fail.

So, just Y split the rear into the amp's sub input and the amp will take care of the frequency?

    MB Quart fail.

Hi guys, I bought that ne MB Quart MDR2.0 source unit because of it's shallow mounting depth, and their % channel amp because it's tiny and clean looking. I neglected to notice that the head unit only has front and rear RCAs, but no sub output. Is it possible to splice the rear channel into the...

Kicker 3.5 not working off head unit but work off home stereo? Bad wiring?

Hey guys, I got these little 3.5 speakers at I've been trying to install in my MG Midget. I have a brand new MB Quart MDR2.0 to run them but they sound as if they are shorted or out of phase or something. Crackling and total distortion when I increase the volume. I'm using the included crossover...

    Tiny dash mount speaker enclosure?

I agree. Since I have a 5 channel amp, I'll look forward to mids in the doors at some point. But another question, can I screw the amp directly into the the car's body, or will that cause a short? I assume the amp's internals are insulated, it's supposed to be waterproof.

    Tiny dash mount speaker enclosure?

This is the most common route. A good set of 3.5s in the front console speaker location, and speakers in the rear trunk panel. That's if you don't want to cut holes in your door panel, but I'm not against that.

    Tiny dash mount speaker enclosure?

I figured as much. But these six inchers are generally used for low subs. I'm trying to figure where to put anything else because door mounts will fire right into your elbow at best. More planning to do.

    Tiny dash mount speaker enclosure?

I'm using an MB Quart MDR2.0 head unit with their NA2-500.5 amp. The front channel is just these two little kickers, they came with bass blocker things. The rear is a pair of Dayton 6" subs on the sub channel. That's it so far. Ya gotta understand how tight the cockpit is in this car, so that...

    Sealed and Ported?

I see. I'm probably going to keep it sealed for simplicity.

    Tiny dash mount speaker enclosure?

Hi. I'm going to put these in my front console of my 1975 MG Midget. It originally had a single 6x8 mono speaker in there and these are a common replacement to get some stereophonic action. They will be amped, so do y'all think they should have some sort of enclosure?

    Sealed and Ported?

Awsome, thanks Audioholic. Another on this same thread.. They want something like .2 cubic feet for sealed, and .5 cubic feet for vented. Does it matter the actual shape of the enclosure? Like this guy made a skinny one, but I wonder if the back wall being so close to the magnet vent wouldn't...

    Sealed and Ported?

Another question. Please excuse my noobiness. I'm using two 5 1/4 Dayton subwoofers and they are going in the rear of my Midget. I understand how to calculate the required volume, but do I need to put a wall in the enclosure separating the volume between each?

    Sealed and Ported?

    Okay, thanks.

    Sealed and Ported?

Is it okay to have 2 subwoofers on the 5th channel wired in series, one with a sealed enclosure and the other ported?
