with the kenwood kvt-512 all you need to do is ground the parking brake with the ground. i just installed mine hope you enjoy it. however when i try to select a new background it will not let me change it or select the memory button to allow me to place a background in there help please

i have a kenwood kvt-512 this thing is sweet. everything from dvd to ipod to navi. plus the kenwood in dash dvd units are the only brand that has a metal basket bracketing system to house the screen that comes out. all other brands have plastic brackets that can break very easily.

the temperature guage also drops to zero so i doubt that it is just a loose cable for the speedo/tach because they all happen at the same time and i will try changing the ground but in case that doesn't work are there anyother suggestions.

i do not believe its the ground, because the hu gets power it just wil not let the screen come out or turn on whatsoever, but i will try that. i was thinking that i could just rewire the whole thing and bypass all the factory wiring does anyone know if that could work or any other suggestions?

i have had a jvc in their worked perfectly and a sony worked perfectly. and i wired the kenwood right. even with the parking brake bypass.
