So the problem is probably the alternator?

Car is running + I am driving

1992 Grand Prix 1000cranking amps Battery (Brand New) New big alternator (biggest we could find) i believe 200 (whatever they are rated at) we also have a 1000watt amp going to the mids and highs

Basically like i said, the lights will flicker at night. So basically i just don't have enough power. I will look into capacitors/and 2nd batteries.

How would you fix this problem? A second battery/ or a compacitor? How would you prevent it from getting hot? Yes, i have a great ground.

Let me quick google them, they are pretty old subs, what would be the problem with the amp. It did this with my old amp to, and when my sub hits and night my lights dim immensely.
