If I buy an amp that puts out 750 or 800 watts am I going to have to turn the gain all the way up to get that potential? If i have to do that will i run into any problems? Thanks.

I'm still learning, but I think a 4ohm voice coil being used at 2ohms is OK, but using it at a higher impedence than it's rated is bad. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

I'm going to go with the standard dual voice coil 2ohm SX. I'm thinking maybe the Hifonics NX750D. It's only 750 watts, but I'm guessing the difference between 750 and 800 is negligible.

OK, did some checking, my alternator is rated at about 115A. So I'm thinking I'm gonna go with a RE SX and about an 800 watt amp. That should draw about 57.9 amps and I would think that would be plenty of headroom for the rest of the car. Will the SX with an 800 watt amp still hit pretty...

I guess i should have mentioned but this will be used for daily driving so a nice balance of sq and spl would be preferred.

Hi guys, I'm wanting to get a single 10 for my car (2004 350z) soon but I'm not quite sure what I want. At first I was positive I wanted a XXX, but from what I've read I'd probably definitely want to get an amp that could push at least 1200 watts. I don't want to have to add battery or worry...
