    SOLD Alpine 9887 For Sale

I've been seriously thinking about getting a 9887 vs. the IDA-X100 I currently have. Mine is pretty mint, I bought it NIB ~6 months ago. The IDA Alpine units work (exceptionally well) with iPOD, USB stick drives, support album art on the display, etc. I'm not 100% on getting rid of mine yet...

    Kenwood KIV-900 vs. IDA-X100 with PXA-H100

Howdy Folks! I just installed more of my system - I guess you could call it Phase II - Hertz HSK 165s, Sundown 100.4D and these are being run from an Alpine IDA-X100. Let me say that I really like the X100 and have always liked Alpine HUs. I'm happy without physical media and keeping music...

DQ: Power/ground connectors (tips on amp side), connecting to fuse, solder?

Thanks! Sounds like I'm making things a little more complicated than necessary.

DQ: Power/ground connectors (tips on amp side), connecting to fuse, solder?

Howdy Folks! DQ = Dumb Questions I'm working on my install and got all the wiring in place, everything is put back together, looks pretty good. I isolated the power, RCA, speaker, everything is neatly tucked, but nothing is currently connected. The Amp is a Sundown 100.4D, and the wiring is...

SOLD F/S PPI 356cs component set $110 shipped.

If these would've been posted before I committed to some new Hertz, I would have picked them up this afternoon right after you posted. FTR, PayPal is a matter of [huge] convenience. I realize there's a fee, etc., but I pretty much never leave the "island" over here to go to the bank. Great...

    Waxing truck in sun bad?

The question was about waxing in direct sun - if you follow proper technique: doing a section at a time, letting it dry and removing it - it should be fine. Given that's it cool outside and the sun isn't as direct in February, it shouldn't be a problem and in fact, could help accelerate drying...

    Crossovers Mounted "Remotely"

Awesome! I'll stick with my plan - hell the car they're doing in is tiny so the trunk location to the doors is pretty close. I'll keep the pigtail in place, solder the wires and finish up with a heat shrink to cover it.

    Crossovers Mounted "Remotely"

Yeah, that's why I figured I'd post. I've seen some conflicting information. Thanks for the input!

    Crossovers Mounted "Remotely"

Any downside to mounting the crossovers away from the speakers? I'm thinking of mounting them right on the same rack as my amp. I figure the upsides: - I'll be wired for active if I go that way in the future - Easy access to the crossovers - Less mounting hassles (not have to pack them in...

    Waxing truck in sun bad?

    Doh! Where's the delete?

    Waxing truck in sun bad?

Exactly. It's all a matter of ease of application and removal. I think with the Sun and a nice cool day, it might be pretty decent. Some of the new[er] wax products (actually they're polishers) are really outstanding to get on, then off (without needing Mr. Miyagi). I used Zaino for...

    Rolled fender lips????

That's my feeling on it. The rental isn't really bad for $50 - I mean you _do_ get the deposit back unless you someone manage to break it or lose it. Plenty of folks on some of the import boards willing to do it for you too (for a small fee). I've seen some results, and they're generally...
