First gen brahma. I'm thinking it was a 3 inch coil but I'd have to measure to be sure. I've actually got the original one somewhere as I use it as a pen cup. it's still got the original dust cap on it as well
Ebay is buyer beware central. I typically buy from there, but I find things there in my price range, research the actual product elsewhere, and then find a seller that seems competent.
Research saves a few headaches from happening imo.
Shady people or even people with bad reps that cant personally defend their positions would never get a dime from me. The subs may work well, be designed well etc... but if the man at the top appears at all to not deserve my hard earned money, he simply doesn't get it.
That's the problem these...
I had a pair on an orion 900 back in the day. they were underpowered. Lots of guys around then were putting 1k into them with no problems. They are a sealed box intended sub but I had some success with them ported as well.

I came up learning about car audio by actually being able to audition them at my local shop. The owner knew me by name, cut me deals on gear and all my warranty work was handled no questions asked. We tested products installed in my car before I ever bought them to see if they worked how I...
I've dealt with crutchfield warranty issues enough to direct anyone I'm installing for to buy from there on *most* occasions. My last round was a BA passive crossover that was missing a jumper and one of the inductors was coming unglued. They sent another full comp. set and paid for the return...
Any of these speakers are going to ultimately be more influenced by the enclosure than the actual brand. If it were me, I'd buy the one with the best build quality and actual power handling, then spend money on beefing up the enclosure around them. Hell, even deadening/stiffening the area...
I've done a type R in a 2 cube @29 hz enclosure and that thing was a low end monster. I was quite impressed on it's output, but it was a bit sloppy for my tastes. I was coming from an old Adire Brahma 10 mk1 though 500 watts would do well for it, I wired mine up to 1500 for a lil while but...
