Mind telling me why and how I can improve it?

The rockford fosgate site recommends .65 cubic feet for their 10 inch punch speaker. I estimate that the area inside the box once built would only be (at most) .35 cubic feet. How would this effect sound? Their 8" is recommended for .35, so I can do that route if the 10" will sound bad. Also...
