    Zapco simbilink ?

woofersetc.com still had them in stock last time i checked, the 18' cables that is. I ordered a pair from them and they came fast no problems at all. and yeah, the difference between symbilink and rcas is pretty obvious and it's not something only an audiophile would notice either.

    Zapco simbilink ?

He doesn't have the balanced line driver though to begin with Just get one of those (two since you're using a 4-channel amp, a pair for each 2 channels) and two 18' Symbilink cables. The balanced line driver plugs into the RCAs on the deck, the 18' cables connect the amp to the line drivers.

    US Amps vs Zapco ?

Personally I think time correction is a bit much too, unless you drive around alone all the time. It creates the best possible sound stage for one seat in the car. Properly aligned speakers and a centered soundstage ftw

    US Amps vs Zapco ?

Not quite sure about that, looking at some prices quickly online, the C2K series looks a little more expensive AX-4300 retails for around 650ish C2K-2.5x (zapco equivelant) retails for around 800

    US Amps vs Zapco ?

I haven't heard any US amps yet, but I'd be inclined to believe that Symbilink alone makes Zapco more desireable. And yeah, the C2K-2.5x I'm using right now sounds incredible that's a little more of a boost in their direction

Alternative to grommet for your firewall

Well, the whole purpose of the grommet is to prevent any metal-on-wire contact. The thing about this idea with the metal pieces for electrical boxes, is they don't take into account the amount of vibration that happens in cars espescially with a big sound system.

    Best bet for time alignment?

well time alignment when done properly, is made to improve the soundstage for one particular seat in the car. I think that's what req meant, just having the speakers aligned properly and not using time-alignment gives a more even soundstage for all seats

    Your thoughts on interconnects

When you think about it though (referring to a comment earlier, about how if you hear a difference it's "all in your mind"), everything comes down to how it's comprehended by your brain. If you're using $4000 per interconnect RCAs, and in your mind it sounds better, than what's the difference...

    Your thoughts on interconnects

True enough, but limiting the amount of distortion in your system couldn't hurt. Think Zapco explains it really well, referring to the phenomenon as "Cumulative Error." Because it's not just one component of your sound system that adds distortion, they all do and it adds up. That being said...

well, I believe your system is only as good as it's weakest link. Some people say cables make no difference at all, some swear otherwise, who's right? Who knows. But, I do know that if you want to see some really expensive cables, check out kimber cable or better yet, http://www.siltechcables.com
