    Any JL fans on here?

I had a JL Audio 10W7 before I "upgraded" to an Adire Tempest 15". All I can say is the JL product was extremely well built and it was obviously a good sub, but the $150 Tempest killed it in SPL and SQ. I had the 10W7 in a sealed and ported box, both to JL spec, and I couldn't get it to sound...

    Adire Audio New Products

Just a few questions for Steven Kephart, I'm just a little bit confused as to Adire's new products. Apparently they offer shivas and tempests in 10"-15" and all types of configurations. I've got one of the old tempests and was wondering if Adire will still produce a driver like this so I...

    My First Install

Wrong. I dropped out of highschool when I was 16. Nobody needs to graduate to have a future, my highschool education was TOTALLY useless to me. I got a GED then I got a 1300 on my SATs and am graduating with a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University in May, oh and a 3.7 GPA too...

    Strange Question about Components

And subsequently if you change any of the above impedance values for a given crossover it will function absolutely horribly.

    Seas 27TDFC

Ferrofluid is supposed to mechanically damp out the resonance in the tweeters. So instead of doing it electronically (with a zobel) it does it automatically by mechanical means.

    id chameleon effed?

If they were completely screwed, they wouldn't work at all. I think that what's wrong with them is my fault and not ID's. I'm pretty sure that this is the case since I had the woofer near me when I was doing a lot of fiberglass sanding which released TONS of dust. It seemed that the problem...

    id chameleon effed?

I'm not sure if I had the same problem as you but here's mine. I had ordered a set of CSX64 seperates from ebay and installed them -- they worked fine. Now, after a few months, it seems that there's a slight buzzing on the right midwoofer at only CERTAIN frequencies (like loud piano playing or...

    Adire Tempest **** Vids!

I really don't care for the way ported boxes sound, but the only one I've heard is the 1.5 ft^3 ~32hz 10W7. That setup did not sound very good to me, especially at high volumes. The only way I'd port the tempest is if it's really low, like ~24hz. I'm not a big fan of subsonic filters at all.

The vinyl cover resting on top of the box is covering the whole setup at the moment, you can tell there's something in the back but not enough to know much more than that. The box shouldn't flex really considering the dimensions and the build. It's not very deep and the doublethick baffle...

I set the gains of both amps based on what the ipod puts out. The AUX IN sensitivity is set to 1 on the cd player and I use the standard ~1V preout thats on the ipod dock. It gets just as loud and sounds exactly the same as using cds in the cd player.

    Adire Tempest **** Vids!

Here are some videos that I just took. You need the latest divx codec to watch them. www.divx.com In this video my camera is not good enough to capture the seats and the doors moving about .25" so I put it on the roof. The noise you hear outside the car is the door vibrating...

Yes, yes you can. The hatch only likes to stay open in the summertime. I figure if the only thing that's gone wrong in 11 years and 270k miles is the hatch struts then I can deal with having to use a broken ice scraper as a prop.
