hooking up the coils backwards will fry the subs. connecting the positive terminal of coil 1 to the negative terminal of coil 2 will fry a sub. Thats what happens when u rush to hook up ur subs and dont read the fine print of which coil you are working with. So, im 99% sure the amp is bad...

i bet it wasnt 1000 watts rms. You would more than likely know if it was rms because the price would remind you. I bet you were underpowering that thing then turning it up till distortion. yea jus screw the bass tube junk and build a good box
