Ive tried turning the gain down, LPF down, etc.. when I do, I can't really hear the sub at all.

It is a 12" Sony Xplod 1300watt sub with a Pioneer GM 7100m 800watt amp. The RCA preamp output on my head unit is 2 volts. Not sure about the rca signal volt input for the amp.

Does you amp have LPF and is it on? What are you amp; gains, bass boost, frequency, set to? What Ohms is your sub and can your Amp handle? What is the bass set to on your radio? Amp does have LPF and I have it turned up all the way. Bass boost is up all the way, Gain is up all the way. Sub...
