I had two Type R's off of a Diamond Audio D5 1200.1. I sold one and want to know if I can run a single R safely. All comments appreciated.

I would be willing to spend prob. 200$ or so and that's not including the price for an amp. Any good ideas on some comps and an amp?

I am starting to put together a system to put into an Explorer. Right now I plan on installing an Alpine Type R 1242 12" 2 ohm sub. A Diamond Audio D5 1200.1 Amp. And a JVC KD-HDR1 Head Unit. I am not sure about the components, wiring, box, etc. The listed items are all I own at the moment...
