Alpine head unit not putting out or amp not "seeing" 4 volts

OK, I played a bit more with the amp and connections. I have deduced that while Alpine insists that my head unit has 4 volt outputs at least for the sub pre-out, I just don't think I'm getting it. The signal just drops too low when I select the 4v input on the amp. I am definitely better off...

I'm on it. I must have it set at full range within the setup parameters or something. I have the manual. Thanks again. Adjusting the built-in Crossover The High and Low Pass Filters on this unit can be adjusted to suit your personal taste. 1 Press and hold the X-OVER button for at least 2...

Alpine head unit not putting out or amp not "seeing" 4 volts

I am going to play with it more today if I get the time (sick kids will take your time too). I have a Phoenix Gold PLD1 line driver laying in a box too. Maybe I'll drop that in and see if it helps at all. I still don't get why my sub pre-out was sending full range either. Thanks

Caveat: This is an older school equipment quandary I recently had some time and became re-interested in car audio again after an 8 year hiatus. Kids will do that. After reading the posts over the last week or so I felt motivated to finish some of the minor things I knew needed addressing in...

    Should I?

The hoarder in me says keep it all. I can't begin to tell you all the great stuff I had that I sold off for newer, better stuff. Now I miss that older stuff because it was sooooo awesome! If you don't need the $$$$, keep it. You will come full circle again when things calm down eventually...

    SOLD FS: RF punch 500aII

Great amp! Ran 2 RF DVC's flawlessly for evah until I sold the car. I got mine still sitting in a box in the basement for God knows when! Granted, it was a serious design flaw, but why do so many RF amps not have end caps? Are they hiding with all the missing socks somewhere? WTF? BUUUMP!

    What's Your Comfortable Listening Level?

A few pegs below distortion! The louder the better for me. Always been that way, always will. The down side is the longer I do this, the louder it has to be to achieve the desired effect.

    N00b Comp Question.

You will notice your crossovers have only one set of speaker inputs and two sets of outs. This is for one amp channel to power one set of speakers (tweeter/mid). So as said above, 2 channel is all you need. There! 1st post out of the way! Now I can concentrate on misleading the masses with...
