Question about ported box for Sundown E 10"

Well 24" is the absolute max I can have for the outside width of the box, I need to leave a little room for carpet so it'll fit in the tool well. I'll do some more research on the aero ports, slot ports just look simpler to build and brace properly. The other advantage to an 8 is sundown just...

Question about ported box for Sundown E 10"

Yeah I was looking into that but not sure how it would work in my car I will have the sub facing up from a tool well in the back so upwards is the only place that I can pull air from. I like the simplicity of the slot design too. About how much will carpet add to the dimensions? I completely...

Question about ported box for Sundown E 10"

Ok thanks with the correct port height it's within an inch of their reccommended port area and tunes right at 34.5, I'm debating going with an 8 inch though so I'll have a little more room left over in my car but figure the principle is the same just have to adjust size a bit

Budget Build in 2000 Honda Insight

I'm thinking about just doing a custom box that fits in there (might as well haha), glassing it would look sweet but would block access to my spare tire. I think I'm just gonna start off with one 10" the air space in this car is tiny...

Budget Build in 2000 Honda Insight

Yeah I looked into that, the guy who had the arc audio took like a 5mpg hit but I can live with that, anything over 35 and I'm happy. Plus my commute to work is 60 miles a week so even at 40-45 mpg I'd be using less than 2 gallons a week. Definitely worth a bit of a drop in mpgs to enjoy the...

Sound deadening is definitely on my list the road noise is terrible in my car. Just need to get a weekend where I'm not working so I have the time to get it done.

Budget Build in 2000 Honda Insight

Man I love my car, but it is so weird compared to a normal one. No alternator, agm battery just runs the electronics doesn't have to crank the engine because the hybrid battery uses the electric motor to do that. Going from 16mpg to 50 makes it worth it though.

Budget Build in 2000 Honda Insight

There's an extensive thread on it here Audio System Upgrade, the Gadget way - Page 4 - Insight Central: Honda Insight Forum I think the max I can pull is 1000w, this guy was running an arc audio 125.4 + arc audio 500.1 at the same time and a something 900.4 before that so I think i'm within the...

Budget Build in 2000 Honda Insight

Update: Just traded a paintball gun for a kicker dx 500.1 so I think I'm just gonna hook my speakers up to the head unit then run either 1 ten or 2 eights in the back off it and see how that sounds. Then if necessary I'll get a small 2 chan amp for the door speakers.
