Pop noise when radio is shutting off?

i'll try with a different set of RCA's... if that doesn't fix the problem, then it should be the amp?

Pop noise when radio is shutting off?

did you have an amp that is generally known for powering subs instead? I'm powering them with a kicker amp, however I have the crossover set to hi.

Pop noise when radio is shutting off?

When I turn my radio off, my inside speakers go "pop" (single pop). I do have an amplifier hooked up to them (inside speakers). I don't have any alternator whine, and I can turn it up pretty loud without the amp shutting off, or distortion, so I don't think it's a bad ground. Any ideas? PS...

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

if that was the case, when i would plug the one pair I have to amp1, my left sub should be running at half the amp's power, which is 400... worst case scenario, 200. That sub is moving like i got two triple A batteries hooked up to it.

did that earlier too, forgot to mention it. this shit's a nightmare... worse thing is there isn't any local car audio shops so i'm gonna have to take it to circuit city install bay to get the amp and subs tested (if they even do that) and half the time those ****s don't know what they're doing...

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

when you bridge this amp to two channels, the amp refers it to "amp1", and "amp2". So you see there are two RCA inputs "amp1" and "amp2". I put in my left RCA to the left in "Amp1" (because amp1 is going to my left sub) and vica versa.

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

ok so woke up this morning.... these are the couple of things that i tried. and none of them worked... wired each sub to an 8ohm load, then ran each one to a bridged channel (i bridged the four channel amp down to 2).... same thing, barely even moving. wired each sub to a 2 ohm load, then ran...

didn't think of that.... at what "ohm-age" would that set-up be running per channel?

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

not running them parallel. got the amp (four channels) bridged down to two. So each sub has its own channel. then since i didn't want to have a 2ohm load on each (wiring each DVC parallel) I just hooked up one voice coil to keep it at 4 ohm. yeah

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

Yeah.... I've also searched on the "can you run only one coil on a DVC" and found a split decision everytime. I'm no expert, but when a sub is advertised as a "4ohm DVC" i would think that it's informing the buyer that it is a 4 ohm sub, but there is another voice coil that gives you the...

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

i'm headin' off to work, when I come back I'll try these things out... one question though, if you can't just hook one coil in a DVC up, is it impossible to run a 4ohm DVC sub at 4ohms? (by itself) the amp is on, and running. i can hear the fan when it starts, and it has a digital display...

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

thanks for the quick replies guys... double triple checked the RCA's... even used a different set thinking that may be the problem. my head unit (pioneer premier, forgot the model) has three RCA outputs (front, back, and subs) tried all of them. and also made sure they were in the input not...

    Subs Barely Moving... Searched Everywhere....

I've searched all over the forum for people with the same problem with a couple of finds, but no luck. I'll describe the problem as simple as I can... (2) 4ohmDVC 12" Kicker CVR's powered by Kicker SX900.4 I got the kicker bridged down to two channels (it's a 4 channel amp). The specs don't...
