    WOW!!!Can you believe this?

Clarion HU, Kenwood kac-9105d Brand new. Ported box, custom not sure on volume, Voltage has read good at amp and battery, I've done a lot of messing around with gains. I have had two different systems through this car with the same exact sound issues. I had used everything at first. Now I...

    WOW!!!Can you believe this?

Well thanks for your genuine interest canaan. I can't get pics right now. Besides, clearly this is a waste of time. I expected what you should be able to expect from a forum: HELP, not sarcasm and bashing. Now how do you delete a thread?

    WOW!!!Can you believe this?

It's not really an SQ problem its proper performance! We're talking low volume and absolute horrid sound. I'm not sayin a dude with a oscilloscope is monitoring my subs at high volume and seeing abnormal amplitudes and wavelengths. I'M SAYING IT SOUNDS LIKE **** AT LOW VOLUME!!!! Just cuz it...

And obviously another issue is you gaggle of jerks. I've heard plenty of cheaper systems then mine sound just fine. You guys are snobs, too much money and too little to do with it. Your only scaring away members with smart *** remarks and bashing.

    WOW!!!Can you believe this?

Me again. Had a problem and posted earlier here: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/wiring-electrical-installation-help/503773-sq-still-not-up-par.html Well based on the general consensus I had a custom ported box made for my alpine type r's...it was a pain in the *** to squeeze into my 1990...

SQ still not up to par.

Bass boost is 0db, sw volume is max and bass gain is pretty high. No improvement. I will be looking into a ported box. Thanks guys.

SQ still not up to par.

i understand what you are saying. I have wired two subs out of phase once by accident and there was nearly no sound. And of course a phase shift of less than 180 degrees will also cause issues. What I am saying is that I can't see where you could develop a phase shift of less than 180 degrees.

SQ still not up to par.

if they are its not by much and I don't see where a phase shift could occur. The only possible phase shift would be a 180 due to improper polarity but that would cause almost complete cancellation. Maybe thats just how noise sounds on a sub because of its low frequencies

how do i have them wired? I've got the voice coils wired in series for 4ohm. The amp has 2+ posts and 2- posts and as the manual states if you put two 4ohm loads on seperate posts the amp will see 2ohms. So thats how I have them wired.

great point smartasss. Thanks for the tip! I suppose I may attempt building a box. It would be really useful to know how so what the heck! It's gonna have to wait unfortunately. I am very busy during the semester.

SQ still not up to par.

sorry perfecxionx, I didn't go into detail a bout the issue because I had started a thread with the same problem a few weeks ago. The issue is that at mid volume I am getting very unclean bass. Actually it sounds much like when two slightly out of tune notes are playing right next to eachother...

    roger that. Thanks again guys.

SQ still not up to par.

wonderful... absolutely wonderful. So get a smaller ported box then...thats the solution? I simply cannot not afford to buy a different pair of subs...this is getting way out of hand.

SQ still not up to par.

Guys, please this is not a debate about what sub sounds best or whatever the hell. The point is that just because this sub may not be a show stopper doesn't mean it should sound like horse ****. There should be some level of performance and it is not there. I bought all my initial equipment...
