The subs in question at this point are the Rockford p3 12 and the JBL gto 15. The Rockford would be in a box tuned to 37hz and the jbl in a sealed box. The only reason I am leaning towards the 15 at this point is that the listed sensitivity on the jbl's is 93 Db and the Rockford is only 86 Db.

Yeah I know but I don't have the space to go ported for those. But if I had to do one of the two listed, which would be louder?

Could the headunit not be supplying enough power to the amp because I'm using a stock HU but have an amp running at 1200 watts rms?

Do u know what could have possibly caused them to be quieter though, because that's what I really want to know? I know it should be a lot louder because i multiplied my power output by more than 10, and it's a better quality amplifier. I know something is wrong, just not what.

I recently got a new amplifier installed and within three hours of getting it, my subs stopped working, and when I opened my trunk, smoke was coming out. It was running below their power rating and they weren't playing any louder than usual, so what could be the cause of them breaking?
