The Eclipse CD3083 is connected to the CD8445 thur a Coaxial digital output (a.k.a E-Lan cable), this gives the head unit the full interface of the cd changer. The CD3083 does not play MP3 files, However it does play CD and CD-R/RW discs. You can also connect 2 cd changers to the head unit....

Ya, the new head unit (cd5435) has 5v pre-outs, where-as the old head unit had 2.7v pre-outs...would this make a diffrence..

I just installed a new Eclipse CD5435. The non-fader does not have the same effect as my old head unit (Eclipse 54110). On my old unit I could turn the non-fader to 0 and essentilly mute the sub or turn it to 15 for full on glory...anyway, the new head unit (CD5435) non-fader controls are from 0...

Does your shop have the new 05 units on display? I have a old 2001 model, so I guess I like the updated look of t he 05 units.

I like the look of the new head unit that eclipse is coming out with. Even the low end unit has a 5V55 ohm pre-out............nice.
