    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

That should be more than enough to run the Z6's. Like I said, I have the JL 450/4 running them; 150 watts to each midwoofer, and 75 to each tweeter, and they sound great. Dave

Ok, thanks for the info, everyone. Dave

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

Sorry for the thread jack; I always thought it was more appropriate to add on to another thread on the same topic rather than start a new thread. Of course, that point is moot since I did start a new thread. Dave

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

Right, as I understood it, if the amp doesn't have to reproduce frequencies that aren't getting passsed by the crossover, it will be able to dedicate more power to the frequencies that it does pass. So, the 150x2 channels for the woofers can only reproduce say 80 hz to 1 khz (assuming that is...

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

Because if you set the amp correctly, it won't be trying to reproduce frequencies on channels that don't use them. So, the woofer channels (150x2) would only be reproducing the bandpass freqs, and the tweeter channels would only be reproducing the highpass freqs, thus allowing each seperate...

BiAmping some Boston Acoustic Z6 components with a JL 450/4

No, I am still using the passive crossovers that came with the BA's, but if you set the amp correctly, it won't be trying to reproduce frequencies on channels that don't use them. So, the woofer channels (150x2) would only be reproducing the bandpass freqs, and the tweeter channels would only...

    boston z series...

Bumping this to try and get an answer to my question, which is related to your question. I am bi-amping a set of Boston Acoustic Z6's with a JL Audio 450/4 amp. I have the 150x2 channels going to the woofers and the 75x2 going to the tweeters. Considering that I have a JL 10w6v2 powered by a...

BiAmping some Boston Acoustic Z6 components with a JL 450/4

As the title states, I am bi-amping a set of Boston Acoustic Z6's with a JL Audio 450/4 amp. I have the 150x2 channels going to the woofers and the 75x2 going to the tweeters. Considering that I have a JL 10w6v2 powered by a JL 500/1 in the trunk for the sub, what crossover settings on the...

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

I'm bi-amping them, with a JL 450/4, so that switch should be on the bi-amp setting. I will leave the tweeter setting at 0 dB, since I can control the actual power going to the tweeter straight from the amp, and I think, since I am using the infinite baffle of my car door as the baffle, I...

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

Hmm, for some reason, I never got notified about the replies. Thanks for the help. I did manage to somehow get them off myself, without ruining the tweets, or the woofers. Installing them next weekend! Dave

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

new question: how the heck do I remove the tweeters on the Z6 comps? There are two hex head screws, and I have removed those, but I can't figure out how to get the tweeters off. The instructions aren't very helpful... Dave

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

Well, I bit. Bought the the 450/4, and Z6's, now just waiting for them to get here. Still thinking about bi-amping them, but them I need to by another amp, along the lines of a 75x2 or so to run the rear speakers. I have tried it without rear fill, and I just like it better (to my ears) with...

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

Nope, they are trunked. Small trunk, not too much bigger than the Z's, but a trunk nonetheless. And I like black, definitely; I used to have a pearl white 300ZXTT, which was beautiful in it's own right, but I like my black G better. Althouh it's a ***** to take care of! I assume your Z is...

    Boston Pro60 or Z6???

Well, since mine is a G35, I have a bit more room to work with. I have the whole trunk! But, since I wanted to save cargo space, I actually removed the spare tire, and that is where my amps are. If you click on the link in my sig, there are some pics; mostly, it's about my carPC install, but...
