Ok whine issue mostly resolved. And it wasn't the head unit. EMI coming from my sub amp. Now do I go ahead a buy the pioneer anyway? Digital ipod connection, built in auto TA, 5v pre outs... lol

I went to a local car installer and we came to this conclusion. The sub amp is radiating EMI into my RCA's (he tells me digital amps are noisy). I had the excess length of RCA coiled up under my amp board right underneath the sub amp. So I took the back seats out and everything out and rerouted...

Ok so I have this whine coming from my speakers. Had alternator whine as well but fixed that mostly by going straight to the battery from the HU (was on stock wiring). The whine starts a few seconds after turning on the system, builds up for a bit and then stays a constant but slightly wavering...

Ok I ran seperate power and ground to my HU (as can be seen here http://www.caraudio.com/forums/wiring-electrical-installation-help/542667-where-should-i-run-my-power-wires-head-unit.html). A lot of various noises went away and SNR is much better when playing CD's. But the whine is still there...

Ok well I decided the back battery was the best place. Went ahead and ran the wires. Solved some things (SNR is better when playing CD's). Alternator whine almost non existent. But my noise problems are still here. On with the troubleshooting!
