    LOW rms HIGH sensitivity 12's

    word, will do.

Your 2,000 watt amplifier is not 2,000 watts

onyx series can do some work though. XD

    LOW rms HIGH sensitivity 12's

I talked my dad into giving me his 30 year old infinity tower speakers. The surrounds on the 12's are rotten, id like to replace them I currently have an old 12in pioneer inverted in one of the towers, but the other sounds awful. whats a decent cheap pair of 12's that will be loud on 35w-50w...

    Do i need class D?

Isn't x2 power = up to +3db? So therotically from 65w to 260w I'd gain up to +6db. Even if it's only "2 clicks of volume" I'd call that very significant. Are you saying the cdt es can't handle an extra 50w? Or are you saying it's not practical to find an amp to power them? As long as I'm...

    Do i need class D?

i got the es series, orange basket. they are rated at either 150 or 200w, i forget. originally on the zapco they were run on 150w and the speakers did great. The audison only does 65w but i decided it was worth it if my amp would actually work. my primary goal is not to make my speakers louder...

Both my amps keep shutting off at the same time

check the impedence of your 12v connections on the amp with a dmm. if its higher than 0 theres resistance. jiggle the cord around and see if you get any resistance increase. I doubt a system that is working fine for a while would suddenly start have problems one day over a painted connection...

Both my amps keep shutting off at the same time

I have no idea about your head unit beeps unless it routes it's beeps through the preouts. But idk. I'd think if it only happens when you drive it's probably related to something shaking loose or bouncing around. Did you check the inline fuse itself? It may be partially blown. Does your amp...

Both my amps keep shutting off at the same time

check the grounds. check the inline fuse if you have one. $50 its your wire. I blew a fuse once that still let a small amount of current through, it played very inconsistent until i found it.

    Do i need class D?

im not familiar with many brazilians, taramp is the only one i can think of... that what you mean? I just considered the 2 channel option when i looked at ct and found their 1600w 2ch for $200, im so tempted - talk about headroom. but its a/b and i fear id have the exact same problem, what...

    Do i need class D?

well my car has a stock false floor for the spare tire. It seals up very nicely on its own to where no new air can get in. on top of that I also have my box directly on top of the floor. Theres 2 maybe 3 cubes of airspace left so I have my doubts that a 120v fan would sufficently cool them. let...

    Do i need class D?

iv yet to buy an amp that leaves me content with the power output 1 week later haha... got 4 cdt es 6.8 golds. they take as much power as I can give them. (redlining the zapco and audison.) I want to give each speaker about 250w +/- ish (depending how well they take it). so 1k to my midbass, and...

    Do i need class D?

super frown. so would a 2kw a/b amp driven at ~1000watts put of the same amount of heat as a 1kw a/b driven at 1000w? I might have to start looking at class D's. Are there any high powered 4ch D blocks - compariable to say an hcca 2000.4/twisted 2k15? that ct looks nice but 125@4 isnt going to...

    Do i need class D?

my grounds definitely came to mind for the reason of heat. however in my experience a bad ground will make the amp cut out at random. These a/bs are stable while im beating the **** outta the frame of my car its only after an hour at full tilt I have problems, nothing random about it. That...

    Do i need class D?

alright so I had a zapco 1000.4 that id thermal protect in about 45mins. Im from az and never had my amp thermal protect on me. (in Co. now) I thought the amp was on the fritz or just to old to function for extended periods. Replaced it with 2 audison lrx amps, (these ones) Audison LRx-4.300...

Car Unit Wired to All ACC Power?

if youre sure the radio works then I would suspect you hooked up your remote wire wrong. get a multimeter and find the 12v cable that is on when your car is on and off when car is off. You will not need to worry about loosing settings when you turn your car off because the unit will also be...
