Thanks for that info, BASS. I'm partially a live-sound engineer so I definitely understand about different preferences! I will go check out some different stuff. Super, no, but I would like to hear the same volume/quality when I or my passenger turn our head.

What is a good 4 channel amp? Would you recommend a 5 channel amp and run the sub through it, or a 4 channel and then a mono? Can you recommend a good sub for clarity?

Well I really am wanting more of a dynamic listening experience and the rear speakers will help with that significantly. Now to find a good head unit and sub...

Ah, gotcha. So regarding the amp, if I get the components for the front and then just some regular speakers for the rear (Any suggestions?) what kind of amp would I need? I'm kind of confused about how to set up (wiring) the component speaker setup.

Oh ok. Would I not get a more crisp sound with the tweeters up closer to ear-level?

That's what I'm looking for. Why the entry level rear speakers? I've done nice speakers in the front and cheaper in the back in a Jeep I used to have and ended up fading like 75% of the audio to the front speakers because the rears sounded terrible. And you recommended a 4 channel amp. Do I not...

My dad had a single 10" in his truck and it was plenty loud for what I want. Could I get more bang for my buck with a single box and sub rather than a dual setup?

I just talked to a Crutchfield rep, he said I need 1" tweets and will need to build something to mount them in place of the stock system tweets. He says the fronts are 6x9 with spacing of 2.935" and the rears are 6.5 with spacing of 5.236". I'm going to double check on the rear sizes, I think...

Hey all, I'm new to the forum. I'm looking for some advice on what brands and series to buy. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4 door and I am wanting to upgrade the audio system in it. I don't want to spend a ton, and I don't care about being extremely loud. I would like to get some decent volume...
