We read something about resetting the unit yesterday, and we tried it, but it didn't do anything. The DISP button merely changes what information is displayed (clock vs track # and playing time, etc) I am stumped.

From what I could tell, there was neither a dimmer button or any menu options to adjust the brightness/contrast. Here is a link to the practically useless user manual. You have to click the "Primary User Manual" link on that page to view the PDF. Like I said, though, it is practically useless...

this might sound like a stupid idea, but I was just sitting here thinking. Would it be possible to hook the orange dimmer wire up to the blue receiver wire instead (right now it is blue>blue)? would this possibly fix the problem?
