I think the Q is a great sub. And that amp choice should be just fine for dual 12" Fi Q's IMHO. As far as a comparison to the Type R, there isn't one. The Q is better than the R in every way, shape, and form. Just my .02.

There's no such thing as too much headroom. IMHO you buy as much CLEAN POWER as you can afford without going over budget. My setup is a good example: tweets are seeing 175watts each 4" mids seeing 175watts each 6.5" midbass seeing 400watts each 12" subs seeing 500watts each Am I ever...

Oh don't worry, it was in no way proven. a 3db difference is EASILY audible. Maybe not if you're used to SPL style bass. But for those of us who are more concerned with SQ, 3db is very noticeable. Maybe I'm just not cool enough though, that could easily be it.

Are you kidding me? 3db difference is barely audible? Try 3db louder is perceived as twice as loud to the human ear. You might want to try reading and learning before you start spouting off info.
