i also read that it could be the coils heating up and melting access glue. could that be? It still makes a little smell after awhile but no smoke. And i put my hand on the cone and its a little warm but not hot

the amps about 3/4 of the way up with the low pass filter on.No bass boost and i turned to Low-Pass Crossover up just a tad to where it sounded best.

Ok. so i got 2 12" subs 500w rms each and im pushing 470rms to each of them. It will play fine for about 15 mins then i get a burning smell and a little bit of smoke coming from my box. theres no distortion when its playing. Im guessing they are overrated subs and im overpowering them but is...

So i bought a dual 12" slot vented sub box. i noticed the subs were sharing the slot vent. It still hits good but should i put a board in there so they both get their own slot vent? Will this effect the spl? thanks in advance
