It is the Ecoboost, I was wondering about the augmented exhaust sound. Makes me think, this could relate to the speakers distorting easily?? I test drove a 2014 w/o the fake exhaust sound and honestly can't tell a huge difference.

Same here, anything over half and you get distortion and door panel rattle.

It shouldn't have been close to clipping, I'm running the gain quite low, it for sure wasn't hot either. I'm just gonna tag this as a mystery and enjoy So far it's been good to go.

Actually, it fixed itself somehow. I left it unhooked overnight, cycled the master/slave switch and hooked it back up. I don't know if the switch may have vibrated enough to loose contact or what the deal was, but for now its working and i'm left puzzled.

Just for my sanity I'm going to have to go check the master switch, I believe it was correct. Power led was green, Protection was off.

Hello, You would probably have more luck creating a new thread, this one is a few months old. To sum up this thread, the culprit was a faulty head unit. The rcas where grounding inside the unit, thus frying the inputs on the amp.
