This is a saying that is common among video rental stores but can work well with alternators. Be kind, rewind. In other words, look into getting your alternator rewound to a higher amperage, you can probably snag an extra 30-40 amps outta your stock alternator, call some local shops and ask.

Sure you can, but remember, most home amps are rated for 8 ohms, if your lucky 4 ohms. Be cautious how you wire them. If you can match impedance with your home amp you'll be good to go.

If it does skip some sort of cushioning for it will remedy the situation quickly.

Try using the backstrap that came with your head unit. I'll secure the unit to the car making it more stable.
