anyone know any sites that show how to get that dash out cuz i want to replace the deck thats in there now with my Pioneer so if anyone can help out that would be kool.
its a function on the deck, atleast it is on the Pioneer decks. u have to select it like you would radio or cd mode, after the aux is plugged into the deck.

ok the yellow and black wire ur talking about is the Mute wire, that is for if ur car has a phone built in, so u hook it up to it and it mutes the stereo when a call comes in or out. I have a pioneer deck too but i didnt hook that wire up cuz its use less.
ok i have the pioneer deh-p6500 so that means theres not much of a diff if any between are connections on the back. the rca that comes out on the cable is for if u want to hook a small sub directly to the deck, they did that so if someone has a sub but doesnt have an amp could power there sub...
u have to turn the deck off then press and hold the function button and when it brings the menu up press function until it brings you to the aux menu, theres option to turn it on and off, obvisiously turn it on. it might be diff on urs, thats how mine works on the 6500 but if that doesnt work...
the rca's that come out the deck on the cable is for a direct sub connection and i heard thats a bad idea cuz u can fry the internal amp.. but the other two are for the amp connections cuz i have a pioneer deck too, but i dont have anything else running off it.
ya i got a similar problem, i have a short somewhere after i put my deck in and yes its all taped up, but ya after i shut the car off the battery light stays on and doesnt shut off, i gotta take the car to like GM goodwrench or somethin. it never did that before so that pissed me off but its...
