my dad bought a set called "acoustic lab technology" in the same type of situation as you. he figured they were stolen or something. he only paid $100 though. they sound pretty decent and they have been working for several years now so dont feel too bad about your purchase.

probably depends on which series us acoustics you are talking about. lets see theres been the usa series, usb, usc, and usx. the usa's were zed built and seem to be held in higher regard than the others.

doesnt it seem that some damage has to be done to some component in that amp for smoke to pour out? i know it may appear to work fine but there has to be something messed up.

this place is a joke. they have tons of empty boxes and old models in their showroom. we are talking like 3 years old. some of the people working in there are clueless. the place also looks trashy. its part car stereo, part truck accessories, and part used car dealership.

these guys have the best shop i've ever been in. they dont have an attitude like most places and treated you good no matter how small your purchase. ive bought several things from them now and will keep going back. they also charge reasonable prices on their installs.
