Sub works fine, no voltage reading from speaker outputs to set the gain

Ha no thank goodness I got the DMM set to AC Voltage but youre right..well initially I was leaving the wires in, but last time, I removed them, stuck the terminals in and screwed the thing down from up top and voila!! No Freakin Reading still!!? AMp works fine, everytihn does, Im just trying to...

    Sub/amp wiring for resistance conundrum...

Ive been running a 400watt RMS 8" SKAR SVR sub with a Skar rp 1200 watt amp at 4 ohms. The amp does 500 watts RMS at 4 ohms. 500 watts amp, 400 watts RMS sub, I thought was perfect ( i also have an LC2i that adds bass) But Ive gotten advice from a couple people that I should wire it to run at 1...

Whats the deal with 4 ohms??

But if I run it at 1 ohm that will be everything the amp can put out right? 1200 watts. Vs the 500 Im running at now. For a single sub with 400 Watt RMS, isnt that way too much? And btw, I also have a LC2i hooked up so I'm not pushing the amp a lot. Gain on amp is like 30%.

Do I have to run an Audio Control LC2i off of the stock head unit?

Yo, ,does the stock stereo come with woofers? (not subwoofers, smaller and used for bass) If so, tap into the woofers wires. You have a power amp to run the sub too?

This is about the Audio Controls LC2i Line Out Convertor

Hey, is it ok to have it running where the maximize/clipping light comes on just when its really bass intensive and its blinking and not a solid light? I read that its ok if its just blinking here and there and not a solid light. Anyone know about that?

Whats the deal with 4 ohms??

Cos when its at 1 ohms its running balls to the wall wide open. 1200 watt amp, running 1200 watts at 1 ohm. At 2 ohms like 800 watts, 4 ohms 500 watts. So, if you're running a 1200 watt amp at 500 like I am, its pushing the amp a lot less which makes for cleaner sound and cooler temperatures...

Whats the deal with 4 ohms??

Hello all, so I have read a ton and heard a ton from users and I swear...it seems 95% go 1 ohms. the rest are 2 ohms. I read that higher resistance is better for quality of sound and defintely amp performacne...how hot they get.So I got a Skar 8" SVR 400 RMS and a Skar rp1200 that runs at 500...

LC2i weird. Starts clipping WAY before it did when I first got it. Help?

And btw, the LC2i issue I think I need to look into it per your advice. But dude...I just realized when reading your reply here again...the first time where I was ablke to turn the LC2i up high before clipping...the RCAs were disconnected. This last time they were connected! That would make it...
