Building out system for a new car

Yes. I am planning on replacing all the speakers, adding a sub and putting in a couple amps. Nothing to extreme, just a good sounding system.

Building out system for a new car

So I got the Android head unit installed and it is awesome. This thing has more features than any head unit I have ever seen. The sound, even with the Bose amp and speakers is 10x better. I took the Pioneer back because I just didn't think it would be able to compete. I did use the PAC wiring...

Building out system for a new car

No responses, hmm. Well, I went ahead and 2 head units. I will take back whichever one I don't like. I bought a Pioneer AVH-2330NEX and a Pumpkin Android 7.1. The Pioneer was significantly more, however the Android has a much better feature set. I am also thinking I can have a program on it that...

Rear seat lift kit for trucks

I built a box many years ago for a 2002 F-150 that fint nicely under the rear seat with no modification at all. It held a 10" Polk sub and sounded great. It even had 3/4 MDF. It can be done with a little planning.

Building out system for a new car

I have been of stereos for a while. Everything I have been driving for the last few years has had a decent factory system. I just moved to a 2006 Trailblazer SS and it has a really crappy Bose cd changer with no aux in or BT. 99% of the time, I listen to Pandora and use Google maps. I was...

    Android as usb drive

The app is called Subsonic. It works with a server I have at home called Subsonic as well. It is a jukebox for local and streaming over the internet. Very neat program. I am putting in a feature request to allow to specify the location of downloads.

    Android as usb drive

I have an Evo. The problem with putting the music into the media folder is that the app I am using will only read and write it from the subsonic folder. I have gone through the settings on the app and there are no options for moving it. I will ask the developer if he can include that in a future...

    Android as usb drive

Yes, it does. I have to manually set it that way every time, but it goes into a disk drive mode.

    Android as usb drive

I was thinking it may be something on the phone as well, but I am not sure what. When I plug my phone into the computer. It works just fine and I can see all the files. Just to see what happens, I moved the mp3's to the media folder and they were able to play fine. When I move them back to the...

    Android as usb drive

I have an Alpine head unit that I plug my Android phone into via usb cable and use it as a jump drive to play mp3's. I have been using it this way for about a year. I had been putting all of the files in a folder with a path of /media/audio/album/.... Yesterday, I found a new app that handles...

    Battery Terminals/Distibution Block

I had the same problem. I went with a Marine battery terminal and the correctly sized terminal lugs for each wire. I had 3 wires going to my +, but there was plenty of room for up to 5 terminal lugs. To make sure the lugs stay on, I melted some solder inside each lug before I put the wire in. I...

    sub/amp compatibility?

I got everything installed today. I went with a Polk MM1040 sub and the Crunch P1000.2 amp. I had a gift card, so I needed to go with what was in stock. I built the box myself out of 3/4" mdf. I was very happy with the results. The box is a very tight fit, but that is what I wanted. I sprayed...

    sub/amp compatibility?

Sorry, but a 12 just will not fit. A 10 is really pushing the limit and will stick out some into the foot area. A 12" would mean I have to take it out every time someone rides in the back seat, which is often enough for me to not want to do it.

    sub/amp compatibility?

I can buy the Polk at a local store for $89, brand new in the box. Thank you for that link. The best I had found on them was $169. It seems that y'all both prefer the Memphis, so I will go with that one and the Crunch 1000w amp. Thank you.

    sub/amp compatibility?

The Alpines are getting a little out of my price range. I would like to keep the entire project under $300 if possible. For the Memphis, would it be the 15-SC10D4 that you are referring to? The Memphis subs are about twice the price of the Polk I am looking at. Is it really worth the extra cost...
