nothing.. only a select titles have 7.1 anyways. dolby truehd, dts ma, and lpcm are just codecs... so they don't have anything to do with 5.1 or 7.1 or 2.0 etc
As for TV's Pioneer Elite all the way if you can afford it Never seen a Runco in person... if you're on a budget like me the Panasonic TH 58PZ850U plasma is the way to go
They do, but don't look anywhere as good as blu-ray. All it does for any upconverter is stretch the image. Blu-ray also has lossless audio which is a huge plus. Blu-ray all the way
First of all 720P isn't the same as 1080I (Also 1080P isn't the best picture) (For TV's yes for now.)
720P is 720 lines as 1080I is two sets of 540 lines... hence the I (Interlaced)
Another thing Sony doesn't make plasmas.
