How can i eq a sub to bring out the really lows well in music and if i need a parametric or graphic Eq.

ok this maybe a silly question but imma noob but how do i Eq a sub and wat i need? A normal parametric or graphic Eq...?? And how do i adjust it to get the low lows?

I was thinkng of buying a 12w6v2 and put it in the recomended ported enclusure on jl site or put it in a 2.0 cu ft @ 31 box i have lying around. The question is can the w6 capable of playing really low notes with athority, the reason y i ask is i notice that boneninja said in a tread earlier...
