Switching headunits shouldnt stop the alternator whine. Check to see whether or not you have a ground loop.

ive got two MECP study guides.....and they are the best for beginners

Ive been thinking about getting the Clarion VRX935 myself ......but I have the Alpine 9815 right now.......The only real dilemma is ....which one will give me the most control of my system ? Anybody have an idea ? Maybe thats what FLSUCIO means ?

im pretty sure you will get some better replies to this......but I would just get a more powerful amp and subs that are capable of handling it.....IMO (heavy emphasis)......audiobahn is more for the pretentiousness of audio ......i would stay away from audiobahn myself
